  IFDA guided tour of the Exhibit of Visionary French Designer and Architect Pierre Chareau

          Pay your entry fee at the museum $15.00

($12.00 Seniors, $7.50 Students)

          Meet in the lobby at 3pm

          Guided Docent tour which will be followed by a film about Maison de Verre

          At the conclusion of the tour we will meet in a local restaurant (to be determined) for

          Please RSVP by March 1,  so that we can for the appropriate quantity of docents for our tour. 

 

 

        Pierre Chareau (1883-1950)

        The exhibit at the Jewish Museum is the first US exhibition showcasing over 180 rarely seen  furniture, lighting fixtures, and interiors, as well as, his Maison de Verre, the glass house completed in Paris in 1932. Chareau was one of the most sought after designers in France.

        Pierre  Chareau balanced the opulence of traditional French decorative arts with interior designs that were elegant, functional, and met the requirements of modern life.
