Funding the Global Green Economy

EarthShare is pleased to offer two free webinars to provide insight into new avenues for funding environmental progress on a global scale.

2 pm EDT: GREEN BONDS 101
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and The World Bank have helped pioneer the green bond market and raise awareness about opportunities in climate-friendly investment. With over $30 billion in issuances so far this year, green bonds are delivering finance for clean energy, mass transit, and other low-carbon projects that can help countries adapt to and mitigate climate change, while giving investors high-quality-credit, fixed-income investment opportunities that have a positive impact. Our first webinar will discuss the growth of green bonds and the types of projects that can be financed using
this avenue. This webinar should be of interest to potential issuers, investors, and project sponsors.

SPEAKERS:

Esohe Denise Odaro, Investor Relations Officer, IFC Treasury.
Denise joined IFC in 2012 as a founding member of the Investor Relations team focusing on managing an extensive investor base which underpins IFC’s growing annual funding programme.  Previously, she was an Underwriter in the Energy group at MIGA, The World Bank Group’s political risk mitigation arm. Prior to joining The World Bank Group, Ms. Odaro worked for Lehman Brother Bankhaus’ insolvency estate as a Portfolio Manager responsible for the bank’s residual debt assets including CLOs, flow, leveraged and distressed loans.  Beforehand, Denise worked on the structuring and loan syndication desk at GE Capital, having worked previously on secondary loans at Goldman Sachs. She holds an MBA from Cornell University, an MSc from The University of London (SOAS) and qualified as a Barrister in England.

Laura Tlaiye, Sustainability Advisor, World Bank Treasury.
Laura is Sustainability Advisor for the World Bank Treasury.  She has worked on environment and climate change issues for the past 24 years, including in her previous position as Manager for Environment in the Sustainable Development Network of the World Bank.  In her current role as Sustainability Advisor for the World Bank Treasury, she focuses on selecting the portfolio of projects that are supported by World Bank green bonds.  She also addresses investor requests for information about World Bank-financed projects and about how developing countries are grappling with the challenge of climate change.  Her academic background is in Chemical Engineering and Management

3 pm EDT: .GREEN "THE WORLD'S ENVIRONMENTAL DOMAIN"
.green is a new Internet address extension launching in early 2015.  A .green website will soon be an easy way for like-minded individuals, businesses, corporations, and non-profits to help advance the international green movement, fund environmental progress, and claim a presence in the online global .green economy. Through the DotGreen Foundation, a percentage of revenue from the sales and renewals of .green domain names will be committed to funding programs and projects aimed at sustainability around the world.   This webinar will introduce the DotGreen Community's goals and discuss how private and public sector
entities may enroll in the .Green Founders program.

SPEAKERS:

Ken Hansen, CEO, co.com Registry.
Ken has 20+ years of experience in start-up ventures and growing Internet, telecom and domain name businesses.  He played key roles in two IPOs (Neustar, Inc. and Net2000), each with market caps in excess of $2B. Ken’s domain name industry experience spans the registry, registrar and the secondary market. Ken led the business development efforts that led to Neustar’s entry into the registry business in 2002 (.BIZ); subsequent strategic partnership with CNNIC (.cn); and, the Department of Commerce selection of Neustar to operate and administer the .US. Ken lead Neustar’s new gTLD program, and was most recently the General Manager of the .nyc gTLD
before becoming the CEO of co.com, LLC

Annalisa Roger, Founder/CEO, DotGreen Community Inc.
Annalisa is the founder of the new registry that proposes to organize and unite the green economy via the Internet. She proposes that the new infrastructure being created invites an opportunity for monumental growth on the .green platform via partnership with innovators, NGOs, businesses and brands. Her vision is that when registrants invest in a domain name, they will also be joining a community of users and contributing to the DotGreen Foundation, the associated NGO. Through this hybrid model, DotGreen will provide the international community with an Internet for the good of people and planet. Annalisa has served as Vice-Chair of the San Francisco Bay Area & Silicon Valley Chapter of the Internet Society, and is an active participant at global ICANN meetings.
