August 18 Lightroom Workshop

1:00pm - 7:00pm

$199

Adobe Lightroom is a MAJOR power tool for every photographer from novice to pro. This workshop is designed to show the benefits of having a workflow, what that is, and how to use it. We also go over each of the tools this program has to offer and how to use them. This is one of the most recommended classes for any photographer to take on any level.

Student Outcomes:

  • Understanding the EXTREME importance of workflow.
  • Learn how to import files and where they go.
  • Learn all of the VERY IMPORTANT primary setting when starting a new Lightroom Catalog.
  • Learn about file handling, file renaming, METADATA, and destination settings.
  • Garner a thorough understanding of the Library and Develop Modules.
  • Understand how to manipulate and modify images.
  • Thoroughly learn how to categorize and edit photo libraries.

What to Bring:

Students MUST have Lightroom version 4 or 5 installed on their computer.  If you have not yet purchased Lightroom, you can download a fully functioning 30 day trial version from the Adobe website.  Students should bring their laptop computer along with a card reader or a cable to connect their camera to their computer.  Also bring at least 30 images on a card from your camera, have a folder on your computer containing at least 30 images, and if you have an external usb hard drive, bring that as well (the hard drive is not necessary, but it can be useful).  If anyone does not have a laptop computer that they can bring for class, please contact April at f/32 Photo for a possible work around (april@f32photo.com).

There will be a 45 minute break about 2 1/2 hours in to the workshop if you would like to bring food or you are also welcome to go to a nearby fast food establishment to bring something back if you would like.
