Working with Angry and Irate People

We would like clients—not to mention everyone else in our lives—to get along with us. The reality is people become angry and often have a right to be.

This training offers insight and understanding of the underlying themes of anger in others and ourselves. Skills of recognizing anger early, deescalation, and managing stress while under verbal and emotional assault will be covered. Once learned, these skills make one less likely to be triggered by anger and better able to defuse it when it arises.

Objectives:
Participants will be able to:

            • Identify the underlying motivations of anger.

            • Recognize the early indicators of anger.

            • Deescalate frustration, fear, and anger.

            • Apply the 10 Principles of Defusing.

            • Determine their own default approach to anger and identify and apply alternative approaches.
