Like all young people, transgender and gender-nonconforming (TGNC) youth are entitled to bias-free attention to their unique needs and to be safe in their schools, homes, placements and/or services. They should be supported in their gender identity and never required to conform to gender stereotypes in order to receive appropriate care. Professionals who work with TGNC young people should be educated about transgender issues and prepared to work in affirming ways to best serve TGNC youth. This 3 1/2 hour training will better prepare you and provide you with concrete skills to serve transgender youth as well as provide you a platform to bring your questions, experiences, and own expertise.
Target Audience: Social service providers, educators, counselors, health care workers, community members, parents, etc.
