Darcy Lichnerowicz is a licensed behavioral healthcare professional with over 15 years of experience treating individuals and families facing mental health and addictions issues. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and is licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Designation in the State of Ohio. Currently, she serves as the Director of Business Development for Beckett Springs Hospital in West Chester, Ohio. Outside of her professional capacity, as a family member to several individuals who struggle with mental health and substance use problems, she understands just how difficult it can be to ask for help and is passionate about connecting everyone, regardless of their life circumstances or resources, to the high-quality, compassionate, and accessible care that they deserve.

Suicide and Our Kids –
Enhancing Your Skills in Prevention, Assessment and Intervention to Help Save Young Lives
As youth suicide rates continue to rise, more professionals are encountering this complex issue. In this training, participants will learn contributing factors to youth suicide and how to maximize protective factors to help reduce risk. Clinical and non-clinical professionals will learn about various assessment models with tips on talking about suicide with young people and their families. Common issues that you may encounter will be reviewed along with available community resources. Join us in learning ways we can work together to save young lives.
Objective: To provide participants with up-to-date information on the prevalence and etiology of suicide in young people and skills to intervene before a crisis situation arises.
- Participants will identify the various contributing factors that contribute to youth suicide risk.
- Participants will be able to identify at least five protective factors in reducing suicide risk in children and teens.
- Participants will increase their skills in evaluating and talking to youth about thoughts of suicide and be able to identify at least five resources to ensure safety.
- Participants will learn about two organizations who offer tools and resources to share with youth and families to help build resilience and increase protective factors.
Target Audience: Clinical and Non-Clinical professionals who work with youth.
