The Bastiat Society - What a Capitalist Approach to Foreign Policy Looks Like 

Please join us for the June meeting of the Beacon Center of Tennessee's Bastiat Society series, featuring guest speaker Elan Journo from the Ayn Rand Institute. This month's topic will be, "What a Capitalist Approach to Foreign Policy Looks Like," with happy hour starting at 6:00 pm and the discussion at 6:30 pm.

Elan Journo is a Fellow and Director of Policy Research at the Ayn Rand Institute. He specializes in foreign policy, individual rights, ethics in foreign policy, Arab-Israeli conflict, the Islamist movement, Middle East culture, Iran, and moral foundations of freedom. His 2009 book, "Winning the Unwinnable War: America's Self-Crippled Response to Islamic Terrorism" analyzes post-9/11 U.S. foreign policy from the perspective of Rand's philosophy. He is also the co-author of, "Failing to Confront Islamic Totalitarianism: From George W. Bush to Barack Obama and Beyond," and his work has appeared in Foreign Policy, Journal of International Security Affairs, Middle East Quarterly, the Federalist, Foxnews.com, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun-Times, and the Herald Sun. Mr. Journo holds a BA in philosophy from King's College, London, and an MA in diplomacy from SOAS, University of London.
