DESCRIPTION: This 1-day web-based workshop will combine a conceptual introduction to x-ray fluorescence (XRF) mapping with practical guides to obtaining high quality, quantitative results, including step-by-step analysis on example data sets. The workshop will emphasize working with the Maia detector and GeoPIXE, but will briefly discuss other detectors, geometries, and software.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE? This workshop is geared towards students, postdocs, faculty, and other researchers interested in CHESS beamtime to make use of XRF mapping in their ongoing research, or to evaluate the utility of XRF mapping in their future research.
