In order to provide effective and sufficient services to respond and prevent sexual violence, administrators and faculty must gain a better understanding of the overall nature and scope of this issue on their campuses. Addressing campus sexual violence starts by recognizing the impacts and ripples all facets of a campus creates, as student retention and overall wellness relies on an institution’s strong commitment and support.
In September 2016, Louisiana’s Board of Regents released the Campus Climate Survey results of Louisiana’s colleges and universities. Although there was a low response rate throughout the state, the data still provided a small glimpse into what institutions can do better next time and how everyone can strengthen and improve their efforts in addressing campus sexual violence.
Participants of this training will learn about national best practices when it comes to utilizing Campus Climate Surveys and practical strategies to apply the data to their own campus.
