The first ever Lululemon Seawheeze Half Marathon starts and ends at the Vancouver Convention Center near Jack Poole Plaza. The route loops through downtown Vancouver, heads over the Burrard Street bridge into Kitsilano and back again before making it's way west for an (almost) entire loop of the seawall before finally heading through Coal Harbour and ending at Jack Poole Plaza.
The event is largely based on the half marathon but there are plenty of post-event activities that Rockdoc will be sticking around to support. There will also be a concert from 3-6pm where we will need a team to support nearly 10,000 concert goers. FUN! No really... FUN! is playing at Jack Poole Plaza for the runners and the public and we'll be there to keep everyone safe and healthy while they enjoy the show.
And no, the Seawheeze event doesn't end there. After the concert, 1000 people will be making their way over to Kitsilano for a sunset Yoga session on the beach. After a long hot day with FUN! in the sun (haha... ) we're going to send a team of rovers down to the beach to make sure everyone stays feeling all zen like while practising their downward dogs. Ohmmmmm.
If you are interested in either of the events post half marathon, please use the registration link below to register. The shifts are as follows:
Concert Rover: 2:00 - 6:30 pm (at Jack Poole Plaza)
Yoga Beach Rover: 7:00 - 9:00pm (Kits Beach)
*If you are interested in rocking out to FUN (and Hey Ocean openers), you should register as a volunteer for the half marathon because maybe, probably, or so I heard ... that Rockdoc is giving away VIP wristbands to a few lucky members of the crew. Ok, not maybe..we totally are!
Can't wait to see all of you on event day...
