December 10-12, 2012 - ClearEdge Apache Hadoop™ for Programmmers

This three-day MapReduce training and certification exam is for Java Developers who want to become a ClearEdge Certified Hadoop Developer.

 Course Overview

Over the course of the three-day training, students will develop the necessary skills to Diagram, Code (execute) and apply Hadoop MapReduce jobs.  Students will learn to:

• What is the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and how do you use it
• What are Hadoop and MapReduce and how they are used
• How data structure affects the way MapReduce jobs are written
• How to effectively understand, code, execute and debug, Java MapReduce jobs both locally and fully distributed
• How Pig  and Hive can be used to write MapReduce jobs quickly and without any knowledge of Java
• The problems with parallel programming and how to overcome them
• Real World applications of the framework.

 Course Pre-Requisites

It is highly recommended that participants have a solid foundation in Java. Hadoop is a robust platform that introduces many new terms that may not easily assimilate into the participants current knowledge base. To ensure that this courseware meets the intended learning objectives, the instructor may not be able to offer full detailed information outside of the scope of this program.  The instructor will tailor the program (without compromising the objectives) to the needs of each individual class.

 Certifications

Immediately upon successful completion of the ClearEdge Apache Hadoop™  for Programmers course, students will be able to apply for and take the ClearEdge certification exam.
