Do you wonder why better technologies take a backseat to inferior technologies? Because they lack great marketing!Please join the Milwaukee SPE on December 17th as we welcome Vive’s Teresa Schell. Drawing on her vast experience and accomplishments, Teresa will share ideas and strategies to help us, no matter what stage we’re at in the manufacturing marketing journey, to help the marketplace hear why ‘you’re unique and people should buy from you’.For the 2nd part of the event, Teresa will talk a little about personal branding. While business branding has been around for centuries, personal branding is a relatively new social and cultural phenomenon and creating a personal brand can be an intimidating task. It’s easy to get confused, not know where to start and difficult to avoid the worst metric – the volume of followers, likes or subscribers you have. Teresa will also provide guidance for us to craft messages like ‘this is what sets me apart’, and ‘why you should promote me/hire me/give me a raise’.

   

Biography:

Graduating from University of WI-Milwaukee, Teresa Schell began her professional business career as a manufacturer’s representative selling and marketing mechanical components (investment castings, die castings, metal stampings and plastics, etc) to OEM markets.

In 2005 she advanced to Plastic Components, Inc. as the first Marketing Director for the company. Leading the company in business communications was the core of her mission; profiting from the knowledge that drives the science of acquiring and keeping customers. Deploying best practice tools and marketing strategies awarded Plastic Components, Inc. recognition in the industry and state-wide manufacturing awards; most honorably the 2008 Processor of the Year by PlasticsNews and 2009 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award.

In December 2008, Teresa co-founded Strategic Marketing Partners, a marketing consulting company for small to mid-sized manufacturers in North America.  In December 2012, Teresa acquired sole ownership and rebranded in 2014 to Vive LLC. As marketers for manufacturers, Vive defines marketing platforms and brand development with strategic planning and communication plans designed to complement the sales efforts of multiple clients in the plastics and metals industry.

Teresa has increased the impact of marketing for manufacturing companies by speaking at several industry conference events. She was a board member for MAPP (Manufactures Association of Plastics Processors) and the WI chapter of Women in Manufacturing. She was honored with the 2017 Inspirational Leader award of the Year by TEC, a Vistage Company.
