MKE SPE presents Progressive Components - Understanding Mold Cooling and Its Effects on Processing and Maintenance

Please join us, as we welcome Sujit Sheth, and Paul Moreau, from Progressive Components, for this live, in person event to discuss mold cooling and its effects on processing and maintenance.

The total cycle time for a mold is made up of a long cooling time, often up to 60% of the total cycle time. There are significant opportunities to better understand the impact that cooling has on the overall process, part quality, and mold function. Monitoring the flow and temperature through each circuit allows injection molders and mold makers to collect and analyze data to drive optimization and continuous improvement activities. Molders utilizing a process monitoring system can view and collect data related to coolant flow, temperature, and pressure with information recorded and time-stamped for historical tracking. Mold makers and tool room managers can utilize a testing station that analyzes the mold for flow capacity, leaks, and optimal process set points.

Biographies of speakers:

Sujit Sheth - Monitoring Business Manager

Sujit Sheth is the Monitoring Business Manager for Progressive Components Mold Monitoring Division. As such, he works with other team members to develop and implement all products related to mold monitoring, including the exclusive CVe Monitor, components for ProFile that make remote, real-time monitoring of tooling and Asset Management possible.  The monitoring product line also includes System Cooling for real time monitoring of flow and temperature through every circuit of your mold. With 25 years of experience in the Operations and Injection Molding sectors of manufacturing, Sujit’s experience helps greatly with anticipating and understanding customer needs and the issues they face regarding mold program management.

Paul Moreau - Lead Research and Development Engineer

Paul Moreau is a Product Development Engineer with 11 years of experience in the plastic injection molding industry. He currently manages research and development projects, inclusive of design work, for injection molding tooling components. He has experience in every aspect of plastics manufacturing from mold making and machining to plastics processing and optimization.
