The  Center for Autism Research (CAR) is a collaborative research center between The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. CAR's primary mission is to understand the causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and develop effective treatments through research with infants through adults. Families who participate receive comprehensive assessment reports and are paid for their time and some travel expenses. CAR is also committed to serving the needs of families living with ASD through education and guidance. The new CAR Autism Roadmap seeks to help families answer questions about life with autism, whether they are new to the diagnosis or have lived with it for years, as well as connect them with resources in their communities via the CAR Resource Directory.

Next Steps into Adolescence
ONLINE workshop

-A Workshop for those supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who are approaching adolescence

We are excited to be offering a virtual participation option for our Next Steps into Adolescence workshop, although space will be limited.  Virtual participants will view the presentations in real time and will have the opportunity to ask questions through a moderator.  Most of the workshop presentations will be relevant to supporting all adolescents on the Autism Spectrum.  In the afternoon, there is a one-hour break-out session that will focus on transition and school planning considerations.

For the spring workshop, virtual participants will hear about supporting individuals with a focus on functional and adaptive skill needsIn the fall, we will offer a break-out session that will discuss supporting adolescents who have more independent skills and may be considering post-secondary education at some point.  Please reach out with any questions.

Cost*:  $15 per online registrant (CEUs are not available for online participation)

A few days prior to the workshop, you will receive an email with a private link with instructions for joining  as a virtual participant, along with a packet of materials for the workshop.

Online participation is limited to 10 registrants.
