Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2^nd Edition (ADOS-2)

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Center for Autism Research (CAR) is pleased to offer a 2- or 3-day training on the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2):

• November 25-26, 2019: 2-day ADOS-2 Introductory/ Clinical Training Workshop covering Modules 1-4
• November 25- 27, 2019: 3-day ADOS-2 Introductory/Clinical covering Modules 1-4 plus one-dayToddler Module Training Workshop 

Both ADOS-2 training workshops provide experienced autism professionals with introductory training on the use of the ADOS-2 in clinical settings across ages, developmental levels, and language skills. The training will be led by Dr. Whitney Guthrie, a certified ADOS-2 trainer and co-author of the ADOS-2 Toddler Module.

Requirements: These workshops are designed for both clinicians and researchers.

• For clinicians with a prior background in autism and formal testing, the 2-day Introductory/Clinical Workshop is sufficient to support use of the ADOS-2 to inform the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Physicians, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and other clinical professionals will be better prepared to make educational placement decisions and evaluate programs after completing the workshop.
  
  
• Individuals with less background in testing but who provide service for individuals and families affected by autism may take the workshop for informational purposes.
  
  
• For researchers, this workshop is prerequisite to more thorough training offered by the ADOS-2 authors and designed to achieve the high cross-site inter-rater reliability required in published research.

 *Please note that ADOS-2 training does not take the place of state regulations regarding making an autism diagnosis. 

It is recommended (though not required) that participants bring an ADOS-2 manual to the training workshop. This can be purchased through the publisher, Western Psychological Services (Product #: W-605M). However, it cannot be purchased at the workshop.

ADOS-2 Introductory Clinical Workshop
Dates and Times: Monday, November 25^th  & Tuesday, November 26th, 2019
8:30am to 5:30pm

Cost for Attendance: $530

Description: The ADOS-2 Introductory/ Clinical Workshop is a 2-day introductory training that uses a lecture format and live demonstrations to introduce the basic principles of administering and scoring ADOS-2 Modules 1 through 4 and provides an essential step toward confidence in using the ADOS-2 in everyday clinical practice or for research purposes. In addition to a fundamental understanding of Modules 1-4, participants will gain experience observing and scoring two ADOS-2 assessments with the support of a certified trainer.

(Optional) ADOS-2 Toddler Module Clinical Workshop**
Dates and Times: Wed November 27^th, 2019, 8:30am to 4:00 pm
Prerequisites: Complete ADOS-2 Introductory/ Clinical Workshop
Cost for Attendance: $265
**Attendees must have completed days 1-2 of the ADOS-2 Introductory/ Clinical Workshop in order to attend the Toddler Module course. 

Description: An optional 1-day training focused specifically on the ADOS-2 Toddler Module is also being offered on November 27th. The ADOS-2 Toddler Module is designed for use with toddlers ages 12 to 30 months. 

* Cost includes coffee / soft drinks and a boxed lunch (1/2 sandwich, side salad, cookie+ chips). Please make your selection food selection for each day on the workshop registration page.)

* Discounted parking may be purchased in advance for $5.00 per day. Otherwise, day-of-event parking will be the standard garage rate of $16.00 per day.

* CEU Credits will be offered for APA ($20) and Social Work (no charge). In order to process CEU credits, we must know in advance that you wish to receive credit. Please indicate your choice by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. 

*Please note: If you register but cannot attend, a cancellation fee of $250 will apply up to 2 weeks prior to the training. We regret that we cannot refund cancellations made within 2 weeks of the training, however, we can apply that payment toward a future training.
