PROGRAM GOALS:  APIC NE strives to maintain the highest standards for Infection Preventionists. This year's program goals are:

  1. To educate the attendees about the transition between outpatient settings e.g., Nursing Homes and the inpatient setting as it pertains to Infection Prevention.
  2. To identify and implement guidelines regarding the care of the environment and the care of the Laundry as it applies to Infection Prevention.
  3. To learn about care of the dialysis patient as it specifically relates to Infection Prevention
  4. To review the challenges facilities face to protect patients, staff and visitors when dealing with water damage and mold.

Who Should Attend:  This program is appropriate for healthcare professionals in Acute, Sub-Acute, Ambulatory Care, Long Term Care facilities and Home Health Agencies.  This includes: Professionals in Infection Prevention and Control, Quality Improvement, Safety, Risk Management, Physicians, Medical Technologists, Laboratory Scientists, Nurses, Professionals in: Engineering and Environmental Services. 

PROGRAM CREDITS:

This activity has been submitted to Northeast Multistate Division (NE-MSD)  for approval to award contact hours.  The  Northeast Multistate Division (NE-MSD)  is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
