International Recovery Institute offers Certified Recovery Specialists comprehensive learning and effective hands-on training towards becoming trainers of Recovery Specialists. 

Application requirements include:

• Application
• Proof of certification by IRI or other accredited body
• A minimum of 12 months active working experience 
• A minimum of 4 supervised cases within the past year  

Times: Basic IRI CRS Class Observation 06/02, 06/03 and 06/04                                                         LIVE Instruction for Training of Trainers 06/05 

Requirements for course completion:

Phase I:

• Observation of 2-day basic IRI CRS training:
  • Journaling the observation
  • Critiquing the training
  • Making suggestions for continued growth
• Observation of consultation to trainees completing consultation requirements
• Progression to Phase II determined by Instructor. 

Phase II: 

• 12 Hours of approved independent study in relevant topic/field 
• Journaling of 2 ongoing cases
• Participate in co-facilitation of 2 modules of 2-day basic IRI CRS training:
  • Journaling the observation
  • Critiquing the training
  • Making suggestions for continued growth
• Co-facilitate consultation group
• Progression to Phase III determined by Instructor and may need to be repeated

Phase III: 

• 12 Hours of approved independent study in relevant topic/field 
• Journaling of 2 ongoing cases
• Participate in co-facilitation of 2-day basic IRI CRS training:
  • Journaling the observation
  • Critiquing the training
  • Making suggestions for continued growth
• Co-facilitate 2 consultation groups, taking responsibility for at least 2 trainees
• Trainer certification determined by Instructor and may need to be repeated. Trainers will be expected to meet standards required by IRI for providing training and consultation to trainees.
