Exchanges is an evening program to spark discovery, learning and discussion about the past, present and future of science and medicine.

Join us for “Minds that Matter,” a short 15 minute talk by author, historian, and TEDx speaker Brandy Schillace, as she shares with us the history of mental health, which is one of tension, trial and error, progress and regress. The program will open a dialogue with expert panelists and attendees to address the impact of mental health today, including depression, suicide, the impact of workplace stress, addiction, diagnosis and treatment now and in the future.

Our guest panelists include:

  • William Denihan, CEO, ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County
  • Dr. Ewald Horwath, Department Chair, Psychiatry, The
    MetroHealth System
  • Dr. Donald Malone, Department Chair, Psychiatry and Psychology, Section Head of Adult Primary Psychiatric Services and Director of the Psychiatric Neuromodulation Center, Cleveland Clinic
  • Jackie McNamara, Wellness Program Manager, Hyland, creator of Onbase®

Come hear and join the discussion about the past – present – and the future of our most precious and most mysterious resource: the health
of the mind.

This lecture event will be held downtown at the Global Center for Health Innovation, in the Welcome Center Theater, sponsored by Vitamix. The Global Center is located at 1 St. Clair Avenue NE, just across the street from the Marriott Downtown at Key Center.
