Kerry Naughton joined Partnership for Safety and Justice in September 2008, after spending ten years working on national and international victim assistance projects in Washington, DC.  In her roles as PSJ’s Crime Survivors Program Director and as a member of the Oregon Alliance to End Violence Against Women, she is an outspoken advocate for survivors and for a system that is just and that more effectively builds safer, healthier communities.  Kerry was instrumental in gathering input from domestic and sexual violence advocates from across Oregon and ensuring that the voices and needs of survivors were heard by our legislators during conversations and decisions about justice reforms.

 

Representative Jennifer Williamson serves Oregon House district 36.  She was raised on a farm in Oregon and received her law degree, cum laude, from Willamette University.  Jennifer‘s experience includes practicing law in Portland at the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine, working at Portland State University as the Assistant Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs, and serving on Superintendent Susan Castillo’s executive team at the Oregon Department of Education.  During her first term in the Oregon House she was appointed as the Co-Chair of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on Public Safety where she championed HB 3194, which reinvested a portion of the savings gained from justice reforms into services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

 

Senator Jackie Winters serves Oregon Senate district 10.  She moved to Portland in 1943 with her family and attended Portland Public Schools.  She continued her education through the Oregon University System’s Continuing Education coursework, with an emphasis on Intergovernmental Relations.   She began her governmental service in 1959 at Oregon Health Sciences University.  In 1998, voters of District 31 elected Jackie, as their State Representative, the first African-American Republican to achieve this honor. She was re-elected to this office in 2000 and then was elected as State Senator for District 10 in 2002, 2006, and again in 2010.  Jackie was appointed as the Co-Chair of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on Public Safety where she championed HB 3194, which reinvested a portion of the savings gained from justice reforms into services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
