Day of Singing & Arts 2013

A joyful, fast-paced choir experience for everyone in grades 3-8. No prior choir experience needed.  Creative conductor/ educator Diana Clark will help you make the most of your voice and introduce you to new choral pieces.  Choose a 90-minute drama, dance or visual art workshop for a mid-day change of pace. Finish with an evening concert performance where singers will show off their learning from the day!

Please note that this intensive exploration in music and arts takes place during a regular school day- participants should let their schools know that they will be participating in this full day event of arts education.

Your $40 participant fee includes the full day of top- notch choral music instruction, a choice of drama, visual art or dance workshop taught by a specialist, a performance opportunity in a professional venue, and one concert ticket for the evening performance!  (Participants will not need a ticket, as they will be performing.)  More concert tickets can be purchased for $10 through the box office at Evergreen Cultural Centre:  604-927-6555.

Time:    Choir Workshop 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM  & performance 7:30PM- 8:30PM

Concert – 7:30 PM featuring “Workshop Choir" and Coastal Sound Children’s Choir

Place: Evergreen Cultural Centre, 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam
Participants: Students who love Music and the Arts!  Grades 3-8

Schedule:

9:00 – 9:20 AM Check-in at Evergreen Cultural Centre Back Stage Door

9:20 – 11:30 AM            Singing workshop with Diana Clark

11:30 – Noon     LUNCH!  Bring a bagged lunch to eat.  We'll provide juice and nut-free snack.

Noon – 1:30 PM             CHOOSE Drama, Visual Art or Dance on registration form

1:30 - 3:00 PM              Stage/tech rehearsal for evening concert

3:00 PM            Parents pick up singers at Evergreen Cultural Centre Back Stage Door

DINNER BREAK at home

7:00 PM            Call time for concert participants; enter stage door. Singers don't require a ticket.

Concert dress – jeans and bright top, any colour.  Looking spiff and tidy. 

7:30 PM            Showtime:  one concert ticket included with registration.
