Join other trail enthusiasts and dog lovers for a leisurely, educational walk along the picturesque Delaware Canal Towpath on Saturday, June 2, 2012 to celebrate National Trails Day. Delaware Canal State Park Environmental Education Specialist, Sarah Berg, will lead the walk, pointing out and identifying local wildlife along the canal.
Each four-legged participant will receive a "Get your tail on the D&L Trail" bandana. The walk begins approximately 2 miles south of New Hope Borough at the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve Parking lot on River Road. We'll cross under river road to the towpath by the Thompson Neely House in Washington Crossing Historic Park. From there, we'll walk approximately 2 miles north to the Locktender's House in New Hope for a short break, including beverages and a snack.
Participants may choose to walk back to Washington Crossing Historic Park, or stay and explore downtown New Hope and find your way back along the towpath on your own.
