Iowa SCTP Introduction to Bunker Trap Clinic 

This international bunker clinic will be taught by USA Shooting National Champioin Alex Rinnert. This full day event will take place in the classroom and on the range and is designed for those athletes with some experience in Bunker Trap. The clinic is open to high school and collegiate athletes. Lunch and Targets are provided by Iowa SCTP, Inc. Cost is $150 for the day.

 

About Alex Rinnert

Former United States Army Marksmanship Unit Shotgun Team member Alex Rennert was born in Miami Beach, FL, and graduated from The University of Florida in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He joined the Army in 2016 and completed Basic and Infantry training at Fort Benning, GA. He was assigned to the USAMU and the Shotgun Section in July, 2016 as a Shooter/Instructor. During his tenure in the USAMU, Rennert competed in numerous National and International competitions, including winning the USA Shooting National Championships in Men's Olympic Trap in 2019 and 2020, as well as securing his overseas Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) for the 2020 Olympic Cycle at World Cup Acapulco, MX. 

Prior to the USAMU, Rennert managed the USA Shooting Certified Training Center in Gainesville, FL, where he was the resident coach. He started the University of Florida's Shotgun Team during his time there, where the team saw great success competing on the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) as well as the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Circuits. 

Attendees should bring the following:

  • ear and eye protection
  • double barrel or semi auto shotgun (able to shoot 2 rounds at a target), over under guns are preferable due to the ability of having two different chokes.
  • Ammunition - at least 200 rounds -7/8 ounce preferred, 7.5 or 8 shot 1250 to 1350 fps (shells may be available for purchase on site)
  • Rain gear if needed 

Parents/Coaches may stay and watch, but will be unable to participate in the live fire portion of the class.
