2012 Fargo Marathon 

2012 marks the 8th year for the Fargo Marathon. Describes as fast, flat, friendly and fun! The recipent of the Runner's World Reader's Choice Award as the #1 Best Value Marathon in America and the 8th Best Overall Marathon in America (January 2010).

Bands are placed at every mile marker and the post-race concert blast is a Fargo finest way to end your weekend in style.

The Fargo Dome is the "home" for everything you need throughout the weekend of events; pick up your race packet, register (last minute), pasta and lefse feed, the Expo, speakers, nutritional food booths, etc.

The Expo (hosted by Swanson Health and Fitness) and packet pick-up opens on Thursday May 17th. Browse through 80 national vendors with the latest running apparel, nutritional food, etc.

The Expo reopens at noon on Friday May 18th and stays open until 9pm. Johnny Carino's Pasta and Freddy's Lefse Feed is from 4-9pm. There are 3 seatings with keynote speakers at each session.

The Fargo Dome will open at 5am on Saturday May 19th. (no Expo)

Volunteers will be compensated at a $4/hour rate and can sign up by emailing me. You will work traffic control (race route) a minimum of 3 hours, max of 6 hours depending on what you want to do. One grand check will be sent to our Agency with everyone's amounts so you won't be receiving individual checks.

Walkers/Runners- There is a one time $30. fee to participate on our team. You will receive the following upon registrating:

- Long-sleeve shirt

- Free entry to social, silent auction, dinner on Monday May 14th at Fargo Dome, ballroom upstairs, 530-730pm

-Goody bag with coupons, brochures, etc. from Corporate Sponsors

The Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota Marathon team is entering their 3rd consecutive year of participating in the Fargo Marathon. Each year our participation numbers have grown with walkers, runners and volunteers. 

We encourage every team member to raise money for Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota as well  to help cover the cost of the goody bags. Anyone who raises a minimum of $150. will receive a pair of Go Far Charity socks.
