Building Effective Regional Economic Partnerships

About the Event

Looking at regional approaches to economic development, the event will share recent research commissioned by Scotland’s Centre for Regional Inclusive Growth (SCRIG) and Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) as well as examples of regional economic partnership working in Scotland and beyond. Reporting on Oxford Economics' research, we will hear about approaches, opportunities and challenges for regional partnership working in Scotland. In addition to this new analysis and current practice case studies, the event provides a vital opportunity to discuss knowledge gaps for policy makers and practitioners in areas such as the development of regional strategies; asset identification and utilisation; innovative funding; project and business case development; governance, policy coordination and capacity; and integrating industry development. The identified areas of greatest interest will then be taken forward and shaped into practical learning sessions throughout 2019 – 20.

Who Should Attend?

This session will be of interest and practical application to those involved or with an interest in policy and delivery in a regional context, such as policy makers and practitioners in local and national government, enterprise and skills agencies, higher and further education, the voluntary sector, consultancies, and industry and business representative bodies.
