When they fail, the results can be as minor as consumer annoyance to as severe as loss of life. One way to ensure that the product meets it intended use and life is through appropriate testing. Developing an appropriate test plan requires a requisite understanding of the component/part, the stresses it may see during its use environment and the potential failure modes that a testing activities might uncover. Product test plans are critical to the success of a new product or technology introduction.
