Sarges Community Base, Inc. (SCB)

Mission: To develop and encourages young men and women to become leaders.  We are committed to reducing at risk behavior by teaching participants to practice – and ultimately own – basic life skills, leadership principles, self respect, and personal structure.  By providing core values of family commitment and responsibility, we educate and empower our youth through teaching, service, teamwork, and discipline in a highly structured environment.

Our goal is to develop and encourage “at risk” young men and women who currently have behavioral problems to become leaders. SCB was founded in 2005 in Pasadena, California by Keith “Sarge” Gibbs.  SCB is committed to improving the communities by seeing that the participants practice, and then personally own basic life skills, leadership principles, respect, responsibility and structure by providing core values. The byproduct of this effort is seen in the communities in the form of reduced violence in the streets, reduced drop-out rates and overall increase in the positive growth of our youth. With a military background having served in both the Army and the Marine Corp, “Sarges’” vision, to make a difference in the lives of our youth, is carried out through structured exercises, drills, mentoring and life skills training styled activities.  By utilizing the philosophy that the youth of today can bring about the positive change for the future, this program strives to uplift, empower, and inspire our at-risk youth to achieve greatness rather than succumb to street influences.
