Discovering Ways to Help Young People Thrive

Asset Building for Parents: 

Developmental Assets are the principles, values, and elements of a young person’s growth that are intentionally shaped by positive factors such as support from parents & adults,  community involvement,  school effectiveness, skill development,         self-esteem building, and other proactive/pro-social dynamics.

Studies of young people consistently show that the more assets young people have, the less likely they are to engage in a wide range of high-risk behaviors and the more likely they are to thrive.  Assets have power for all young people, regardless of their gender, economic status, family, or race/ethnicity. 

This FREE training will be held Thursday February 24 from 6:30-9:00 pm, at the Prince George’s Ballroom located at 2411 Pinebrook Avenue, Landover, MD. There will be light refreshments, and child care will be provided for children over the age of 3 (must be potty trained). Simultaneous interpretation in Spanish will be available during the training.

Transportation will be available to and from the program from two M-NCPPC sites leaving at 5:45 pm:

• Temple Hills Community Center, 5300 Temple Hill Rd., Temple Hills 20748
