Pathways to Employment: Strengthening the Immigrant Connection 

Are you an employer or a newcomer to Hamilton?  Do you work in employment, ESL/LINC, settlement or other community services? You are invited to our event to learn about recent Workforce Planning Hamilton (WPH) initiatives in aiding newcomers to discover pathways to employment.  

WPH is pleased to present the results of our research project, Hiring Immigrants in Hamilton: A Study of Employer Readiness.  

Are Hamilton employers ready and willing to hire recent immigrants?  The first survey of its kind in Hamilton, the 2013 survey of more than 300 local employers yielded interesting and sometimes surprising results. Find out more about the employers' responses and experiences during this presentation.

We'll be introducing the Hamilton Immigrant Mentoring Partnership (HIMP) to Hamilton. Funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation this program will offer mentorship opportunities to internationally trained professionals.  Find out how to become involved with HIMP as a mentor or a mentee.
