Keynote Speaker: Dr. Karyn Gordon

Dr. Gordon has a Bachelor in Psychology, a Masters in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family. She has done extensive studies in generational differences, personalities, leadership, and emotional intelligence.

She's a regular expert for Good Morning America, Cityline and Breakfast Television, and writes a regular column for New York Parenting, and Chatelaine magazines.

 

Igniting the Spark: How to engage and motivate youth 

Work with youth? You are invited to our event!

group of youth Youth unemployment in Hamilton is double that of the rest of the job seeking public yet...youth are not using the many free employment services operated by Employment Ontario.

A recent WPH project - in partnership with the Neighbourhood Action Strategy - worked with youth to explore why this disconnect is happening.  Suggestions have been developed to provide tips to employment services on how to be youth friendly.

Research results will be presented at Igniting the Spark: How to Engage and Motivate Youth, on March 10, 2016.  The event will be held at the Waterfront Centre from 8:30 am. - 11:00 am.

Come out to hear:

  • An overview of WPH's recent research on how to create local youth friendly services
  • Keynote by Dr. Karyn Gordon, an expert in generational differences who will provide tips on how to connect, communicate, understand, and motivate youth
  • Panel of youth will share their experiences at local employment services, and provide recommendations. 

A full breakfast will be served and the cost for the event is $20 each.
