Precinct Committee Person & Neighborhood Leader Training February 3

We have dozens of new Democratic Precinct Committee People across Centre County and  a groundswell of Democrats interested in becoming Precinct Committee People , Neighborhood Team Leaders or “on call" volunteers. We’re kicking off 2018 with TWO training opportunities to meet the demand.

DATE:  Saturday, Feb 3

TIME:  9:30 am -- 11:00 am

PLACE:  Centre County Democratic Office, 315 S Allen St., Suite 116, State College
 

MISSION:  to understand the critical impact of building a "Democratic community" in your neighborhood; to gain specific skills to build that community; to network with other Democratic organizers and volunteers

AGENDA (identical for each training date):

• Why build a Democratic community? 
  • to increase Democratic voter turnout
  • to elect more Democrats to local, state, and national offices
  •  to encourage Democratic friends, neighbors, even you (!) to run for office
• Skills training for community building
  • Petition circulation
  • Door knocking
  • Poll coverage (outside the poll)
  •  Building and maintaining a volunteer network
• Responsibilities of a Committee Person 
• Responsibilities of a Neighborhood Leader 
• "On-call" volunteer opportunities
• Introduction to VAN (Voter Access Network), the comprehensive, powerful, but user-friendly voter data base (available only to Democrats)

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?  

• new Precinct Committee People
• wannabe Precinct Committee People, Neighborhood Leaders, and anyone passionate about making a difference--no matter how large or small
• any Precinct Committee People who haven't been to a training within the last four years
• ONLY REGISTERED DEMOCRATS MAY ATTEND.
