Complete streets are streets designed for all users, all modes of transportation, and all ability levels. They balance the needs of drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, emergency responders, and goods movement based on the local context. Complete streets offer an opportunity to improve safety for the most vulnerable road users — people walking or biking — while generating a myriad of other benefits.
This training features an overview of complete streets and the many resources available to assist elected officials, administrators, engineers, planners and others in advancing complete streets initiatives.
