Workshop Sessions:

Retain the Rain! Reducing Stormwater Runoff

You'll learn how to hold on and reuse rainfall so it doesn't wash off your yard, down the street and into a nearby pond, bay or the Gulf. We'll explore rain harvesting with rain barrels and rain gardens, and other ways to redirect roof runoff to permeable areas.  Learn simple steps you can take to reduce pollutants in any water that does flow off your yard.

Lawn Care the Easy, Florida-Friendly Way

Our Be Floridian yard care pro shows you how to maintain a "Green" lawn -- as in Florida-friendly! If you aren't sure what kind of grass you have, what height your mower should be, how to set your irrigation timer, what to do with your grass clippings or what the three letters on the fertilizer bag stand for, this session is for you!

Essentials of Florida-Friendly Landscape Design

Want to create a Florida Yard but don’t have a clue where to start? This workshop will cover the basics from choosing the right plants for your growing conditions, to simple design principles that will help you get started on creating the garden you've always wanted.

Our Extreme Yard Makeover

A Tampa couple shares their recipe for marital bliss: A  total yard makeover that transformed their landscape from a  high-maintenance, mistake-filled mess to an award-winning, water-conserving oasis that gives them more time to fish, cycle or just sit on their deck sipping umbrella drinks! They'll share their step-by-step experience, with lots of great tips and a generous helping of humor.
