Lois Thome Anchor WINK News Lois Thome co-anchors "WINK News at 5, 6 and 7". Lois joined WINK-TV in 1992 and since then has garnered many awards and recognitions including: The Best News Anchor in Southwest Florida, was named a Woman in History from the American Business Women's Association, Humanitarian of the Year by Catholic Charities and was voted one of the top Women of the Year by Gulf Shore Life Magazine. Lois is very involved in her community. For 20 years she has volunteered as a committee member for the Southwest Florida Reading Festival, is a board member for the Harry Chapin Food Bank and volunteers in area schools.
Meet some of our panelist:
Mayor Kevin Ruane, City of Sanibel. Mayor Ruane was appointed to the Sanibel City Council to serve an interim position for a vacant seat in February 2007. In May 2007, he ran for a permanent position on Sanibel City Council. He was re-elected in March 2009, 2013 and 2017. He was Vice Mayor 2009/2010. He currently serving his 10th consecutive term as Mayor. Mayor Ruane is currently running for District One Lee County Commissioner in 2020.
Sarah Owen, President & CEO of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, leads a passionate and diverse team dedicated to driving regional change for the common good in Southwest Florida. The Foundation is committed to engaging the community in conversations and action that creates sustainable positive change and provides the funding to make those changes a reality. In October of this past year the Foundation opened Collaboratory in the newly renovated historic ACL train depot in downtown Fort Myers. It is a space designed for people to come together on opportunities to improve the quality of life in the region for everyone who lives, works, plays and learns here.
Dr. John Meyer is the fifth president of Hodges University. He has over 20 years of public and private education experience, and his business expertise includes managerial consulting, owning and operating private automotive ventures, and conducting corporate trainings. Dr. Meyer graduated with his DBA in management from Argosy University, an MBA from Hodges University and a B.S. in accounting from Hodges University.
