The interest in emotional intelligence in the workplace stems from the widespread recognition that these abilities – self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and social skill can help people manage their work, themselves and their relationships. Meet our emcee

Michael Wynn, Chair-President of Sunshine Ace Hardware A native of Naples, FL, Michael is currently President of the family’s chain of Ace Hardware stores, as well as Chairman of the Wynn Family Board of Directors. In 2014, Michael received the hardware industry’s Top Gun Award presented by the National Retail Hardware Association. In the same year, he was also recognized as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was inducted into the SWFL Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. Actively involved in the Southwest Florida business and civic community, he is the Immediate Past Chair of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce and Chair-Elect of the Leadership Collier Foundation. Michael is on the Executive Council of the Above Board Chamber of Florida

Meet our panelists

   Samira Kanaan Beckwith, CEO, and President of Hope Healthcare Dr. Samira K. Beckwith has served as president and CEO of Hope Healthcare in Southwest Florida for nearly 30 years. With her leadership, Hope grew from a hospice caring for 100 patients a day, to a care continuum serving more than 4,000 individuals each day. Beckwith was appointed to The White House Conference on Aging, took part in a U.S. Senate Special Committee and received appointments by Governors Rick Scott and Jeb Bush. Samira is a member of the Above Board Chamber of Florida

  Doni Landefeld, Ph.D. hails from Pennsylvania and served in several leadership roles in academia before moving to Florida in 2004. In 2010 she created Metamorphosis Coaching and her focus areas include leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, well-being, and a new hiring/selection system. She serves as Board President of the Gulf Coast Symphony (also plays principal bass), sits on the Education Committee of the Cape Coral Chamber, and is co-founder and rotating Chair for “Taste of the Cape,” an event that raises money for scholarships. Doni authored “Lead Yourself First,” and was featured in the February 2017 issue of “Gulf Coast Woman.” She’s a member of the Above Board Chamber of Florida.

 Claudia Monte, Firm Principal,CAM Consulting Group LLC, a full-service HR consulting and training firm, which she founded in 1993.  She has extensive experience nationally working with clients across the private and public sectors.  Claudia specializes in coaching individuals to strengthen their Emotional Intelligence in their personal and professional lives.  She is also an arbitrator with the Florida Attorney General’s Office and a facilitator with the SWFL MicroEnterprise Institute

 Dr. Mike Smith, DBA, CPBA Dr. Thomas (Mike) Smith, DBA, CPBA Professor of Management at Hodges University. Dr. Smith, has over 30 years’ experience in teaching, training, public speaking, and management. After graduating from the University of Alabama (BS), Mike continued his education and obtained diplomas from The Institute of Financial Education, and the American Institute of Banking. Mike also holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and his Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from Argosy University. He is a Certified Professional Behavior Analyst (CPBA) through Target Training International and qualified in the use and application of the D.I.S.C. behavior style instrument.Professor of Management at Hodges University.
