37th Annual Crystal Eagle Dinner honoring
Patty Wagstaff

November 16, 2019

The Aero Club of Northern California invites you to the annual Crystal Eagle Award Dinner honoring Patty Wagstaff.

The event will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Hiller Aviation Museum, 601 Skyway Road at San Carlos Airport. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m.

Parry Wagstaff will be honored with the 37th prestigious Crystal Eagle in recognition of her outstanding accomplisments in aviation. She has received numerous awards for her work in aerobatics, including the Airshow industry's most prestigious award, the "Sword of Excellence," and the "Bill Barber Award for Showmanship." She was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 2004. From 1999-2006, Patty was Raytheon’s/Beechcraft (now Textron) demo pilot for their T6A/B Texan II military trainer and light attack aircraft. Since 2001, Patty has traveled to Kenya to give bush, recurrency, and aerobatic training to the pilots of the Kenya Wildlife Service who protect Kenya’s elephants, rhino, and other natural resources from poachers. From 2010 to 2012 Patty flew for Cal Fire as an Air Attack pilot in the OV-10 Bronco. Patty currently runs the Patty Wagstaff Aerobatic School in St. Augustine, Florida.

The Aero Club also will present National Aeronautic Association Certificate awards to two individuals for their significant contributions to aviation. Scholarships will be awarded to several students enrolled in Bay Area college and university aviation programs. Dinner ticket prices just cover the cost of the event, so we rely upon contributions and Silent Auction bids to fund the scholarships.

The Crystal Eagle Award was first presented by the Aero Club in 1983 to legendary aviator Gen. Jimmy Doolittle. Among past recipients are Gen. Chuck Yeager, Stanley Hiller Jr., Jim Nissen,  George Cooper, Jeana Yeager, James S. Ricklefs, Darryl Greenamyer, Clay Lacy, Paul Poberezny, Wayne Handley, Eileen Collins, Sean D. Tucker, Steve Fossett, Brian Shul, C.E. “Bud” Anderson, Julie Clark, Rod Machado, John and Martha King, and Barry Schiff.
