Accounting Fundamentals for Small Businesses 9:00 AM - Noon 6/9

Every new business owner needs to have a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and a system to keep track of their taxes and financials. This workshop is designed to do just that.  All new entrepreneurs need to be able to discuss the financials of their business with bankers and financial institution leaders. We are not making you an accountant but proficient in the language and the concepts that matter.  This course will not replace your accountant but enhance your role with them.  Also, the QuickBooks overview presented will serve to jump start your use of the tool or one like it. Again, this is a must attend workshop for growing your business and taking it to the next level.

Instructor: Rick Miller

Rick Miller has worked as a business banker, financial consultant, credit specialist, sales coach, HR Professional and marketing expert for the past 12 years.  He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Tennessee, and has worked previously for Fifth Third Bank, Bank of America, Lipscomb University and NewsChannel 5.  Rick is proud to serve as a SCORE volunteer: “I enjoy volunteering and serving SCORE clients.  It provides a terrific opportunity to assist growing companies and their owners develop their vision and execute on their business plans.”   Rick has a BA in Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism from Lipscomb University and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State.

You can pay $25 now or $30 at the door by credit or debit card.  You may also register to participate in the workshop via a video conference link for $35.
