FOSTER CARE ADOPTION AWARENESS COALITION
The Bluebird Project is a creation of the Foster Care Adoption Awareness Coalition, which consists of these local nonprofits: Community Attention Foster Families (CAFF), the Departments of Social Services in Albemarle and Charlottesville, DePaul Community Resources, Foster Care Alumni of America, Great Expectations, PeoplePlaces, Piedmont CASA, and UMFS.
Bluebird Parade for Foster Children
Friday, May 4, 2018

SCHEDULE
4:20 - Meet at Piedmont CASA and select your bluebird
4:50 - Gather in the Piedmont CASA parking lot
4:55 - Welcoming remarks - Marnie Allen
5:00 - Parade begins
5:30 - Parade lands at CitySpace

We'll take a group photo on the steps of CitySpace, then head inside for refreshments and music.

Sherry Taylor with Z95.1 with be in the Bluebird Parade -- David Toscano is meeting us when the flock lands at City Space -- and Norman Dill will do the bluebird artwork auction honors.

PARADE ROUTE
From Piedmont CASA, the Bluebird Parade will head to the Pavilion, then it will go all the way down the mall, do a u-turn at the Omni Hotel, and return up the mall to land at City Space.

PARKING
We suggest parking in the Market Street Garage as parking in the Piedmont CASA neighborhood can be challenging - and with so may folks joining the parade, it's going to be even harder! Plus the garage is close to CitySpace, so you won't have far to go when the parade ends.

After the parade, two bluebird artworks will be sold in a live auction: Cynthia Burke and John Bordon Evans. Another 25 will be sold in a silent auction. Scores of bluebird art will be available as gifts with donations.

Bluebird art has been on display around town, but you can also see it on the web

Any funds raised will go toward helping children in foster care by training and supporting foster care families, and by giving foster children a voice in court through the advocacy work of Piedmont CASA Volunteers. Funds will be equally divided between Piedmont CASA and the Foster Care Adoption Awareness Coalition (FCAAC).

Because every foster child needs a bluebird
