Ask the Question Project 

 Clackamas County Behavioral Health and Clackamas Art Alliance have partnered on an important project aiming to break down the stigma surrounding suicide. Stories of lived experience are the most powerful agent of change to addressing stigma. The Ask the Question Project aims to build awareness about the impact of suicide and illuminate hope for recovery through photographic portraits and interviews of suicide attempt survivors.  

Join us for a special evening to kick-off the Ask the Question Project.  Commissioned artists Julie Keefe and Mic Crenshaw will share their experience of interviewing and photographing suicide attempt survivors, who courageously shared their stories for the project.   We will also welcome key-note speaker Dese’Rae L. Stage, founder and creator of Live Through This - the largest catalog of attempt survivor narratives in existence.  Please join us on World Suicide Prevention Day, a day when mental health advocates, prevention organizers, survivors, allies, artists and community members unite to promote hope and remind our community, everyone can play a role in suicide prevention.

Ask the Question Project was made possible in part by grants from Oregon Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts.  The exhibit will be showcased in various venues throughout Clackamas County beginning in September 2018.  We look forward to sharing this special project with you.
