Summer Intern Brown Bag:

Perspectives on Poverty Law

from the Bench

The Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, and the Washington Council of Lawyers, with the support of Jones Day LLC, are pleased to offer an opportunity for public interest summer interns to connect with the return of our Summer Intern Brown Bags.

Our first brown bag of the summer will feature DC Superior Court Associate Judges Todd E. Edelman, Jennifer A. DiToro, and Juliet McKenna.  They will speak about the impact poverty has on the cases they hear every day, answer questions about being a judge in a courthouse with a significant number of pro se litigants, and the impact public interest and pro bono attorneys can have on access to justice.

We will provide the beverages and desserts, so just bring your lunch, and learn along with summer interns from other public interest organizations around DC.  Feel free to invite a public interest friend to join you!

Space is limited, so please register early!
