November 9th Birding Hike at the River Center

Join guide Judy J. for this free nature walk celebrating the San Joaquin Valley on Friday, November 24th.  We will start with a leisurely hike around our ‘Hidden Homes Trail’ (approximately 45 minutes) before heading out down “Sycamore Lane” to observe early migratory bird species overwintering on the reclaimed mining ponds, as well as other flora and fauna along the way. The Hidden Homes portion of this hike is ADA accessible; beginning birders welcome.

Guide Judy J. is a retired entomologist and avid birder who has been leading hikes for the River Parkway Trust for over 10 years.  She serves on the Board for Fresno Audubon, and enjoys introducing others to birding in the Central Valley.

We will be meeting at the River Center at 8:30 am.  Hike may be anywhere from 1-3 miles in length and will last approximately 1.5 hours.  Please dress appropriately for a day outdoors (long pants, closed toed shoes, etc.) and bring sunscreen, binoculars, and water. This is a rain or shine event. Children 12+ welcome..
