In a working farm environment, we bring together, family members, professionals, agencies, volunteers, caregivers, organizations, corporations and communities to support, teach, work with and serve those with Autism and other special needs to help them lead, independent and fulfilling lives.  Our programs focus on job skills, life skills and social skills to provide  our participants with the skills necessary to work and live where they chose. The future farm will also incorporate an ecological responsibility to support a green world now and for our future generations. Please visit our website www.farmingindependence.org for more information about our mission, pilot programs and future programs and subscribe to our newsletter.

Organizations using a similar model to Farming Independence, like Green Chimneys in New York and Lambs Farm outside of Chicago, have helped reduce the unemployment rate dramatically amongst those with developmental disabilities. By doing so, according to the Social Securities Administration’s most recent data, for every dollar that the government spends on vocational rehabilitation agencies like ours, Social Security saves $7. For these reasons and more, Farming Independence was formed as a California Non Profit Organization. There is a critical need for many more organizations like Farming Independence.

We hope you will join our journey and help us make a difference in the lives of many incredible people.

Thank you!
