The Mihaylo In-Class Experience will give you the opportunity to sit in on a current course to familiarize yourself with the class structure and course content, while having the opportunity to meet with an esteemed faculty member as well as current students in the program.
Course: MGMT 582 Organizational Development & Change
Course Description: Perspectives and theories on organization change and development. Students will be introduced to a variety of concept skills and tools necessary to achieve organizational goals, deal with change and become a successful change agent.
Professor: Dr. Gerard Beenen is an assistant professor of management at the Mihaylo College of Business & Economics, California State University, Fullerton, where he teaches courses in organizational behavior and leadership. He received his Ph.D. in organizational behavior and theory from Carnegie Mellon University. He also has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and an MA from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. His research interests include skill development and leadership, especially in high-impact, short-term work assignments. His research has been published in Human Resource Management, Academy of Management Learning and Education, and the Journal of Computer Mediated Communication. His research has been funded by the Graduate Management Admissions Council and the National Science Foundation. Prior to his academic career, he was CEO of a cancer care center, co-founder of an internet software firm, and a management consultant with Bain & Company.
