At 50 years of age, Colette's life took an about face, leaving her homeless, broke and alone. From her comfortable, middle class, typical Canadian life, she stepped into uncertainty and poverty. What an adventure! After 6 years on the road in a variety of atypical careers, including trucker, oilfield worker and TONKA operator, Colette now calls Medicine Hat, Alberta home. She is Director of Women Talk Medicine Hat and loves to indulge her passions for writing, food and photography. Her newest rush we've heard, is found on the local speedway.
Brenda's life and career choices have really always revolved around storytelling. As a musician/singer/songwriter, she knows that it takes a compelling story to write a great song that can be marketed. During her 35 + years as a leading rep in direct sales & service, she explains that, to harness the power of story, is the greatest advantage one can use to influence sales. Brenda is the sole proprietor of 'Sounds Impressive Marketing', where she enjoys helping both the Small Business Owner and Independent Artists, "Express their Journey through the Power of Music & Story". Brenda is also very active with Women Talk, both as a Director of Strathmore, and an assistant to the CEO. She remains passionately active in the local music scene, and especially enjoys the opportunities of entertaining and hosting sing-a-longs at many Senior Residence's.
WOMEN TALK is an evening gathering where women present and share their inspiring stories, thoughts, ideas and experiences. You’ll laugh, you’ll learn and you’ll be entertained by amazing WOMEN TALKers! The evening will be fast-paced with each presenter speaking for 15-20 minutes, TED TALK style. We are ordinary women, sharing extraordinary stories! Everyone's uniqueness is celebrated. It is a beautiful harmonious place where you can feel the unconditional love of the Divine Feminine.

Our Women Talk Monthly Events consist of:

- Inspiritional TALK from a Board MemberInspiritional

- Followed by “girl time”
- Food and drinks can be purchased from the menu
- Your evening is woven together with a splash of humour, and inspiration thanks to our MC and Director, Colette Smithers
