In celebration of the Commitment of Communities to Eliminate Childhood Obesity, we are hosting an event for over 200 business, government, and community leaders on November 4, 2010 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Regattabar in the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
This year we will be honoring the mayor of Somerville, Joseph Curtatone, for his dedication and support to this cause. His successful obesity intervention programs are recognized by the White House and he has been called on by Michelle Obama to be a member of the White House Task Force on Childhood Obesity. In Somerville, over 45% of the children are obese or overweight. Mayor Curtatone, in recognizing the need for community to support children and families, has adopted the CYCLE Kids program as an important component of his "Eat Smart, Play Hard, Live Well" community policy.
Guests will enjoy dishes prepared by our favorite local chefs. Artist Chris Piascik will be creating live art based on your answers to the question "Do you remember your first bike?"
