A V-Day Campaign Event to Stop Violence Against Women and Girls

Ashé Cultural Arts Center presents The Vagina Monologues, written by Eve Ensler, directed by Kesha McKey, executive producer Carol Bebelle.  For the twelfth year, Ashé has brings drama and comedy to its stage by way of a production that gets better as time flies by.  Featuring a fresh cast of locals, celebrities, and splendid choreography, you are sure to have a memorable and worthwhile experience.

The monologues are timeless.  Some are tear-jerkers, while others, like the "moanettes," will make you laugh until you cry.  Though you might have seen it before, our production is freshened each year to keep it interesting, valid and juicy, while making it feel like you're seeing it for the first time.

The award-winning play is based on V-Day founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the monologues celebrate women’s sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than thirteen years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.  The show endeavors to bring about awareness, in hopes of wiping out domestic violence against women.
