Let's have a Retreat! - At home - In our jammies!

In these times of stay-at-home orders and keeping each other safe, we can travel from far and wide to be together - apart! Cherryl Moote and I have teamed up to bring you an exciting creative retreat over two weekends! 

  • Learn innovative gel plate printing techniques with Elaine. 
  • Create both a sample and finshed book as Cherryl guides you through the Larkshead sewn binding. 
  • Get your pattern on with ZentangleŽ!*
  • Expand your creative options as Cherryl and Elaine share with you their collage, paper altering, art journaling and mixed media expertise.
  • Art Supplies and goodies valued at $100+*
  • Carefully designed classes guide the beginner and provide challenges to the advanced student. 
  • Relaxed schedule, allowing you time to process and create with your newly acquired skills.
  • 18 hours of instruction in a Zoom classroom. All classes are recorded.
  • Create-Along time - sign onto our Zoom classroom and create with friends! (not recorded)
  • Private Facebook Group
  • $350 United States students, $365 Canadian Students, $250 International Students. (US Dollars)**

Before the event you will receive a specially curated box of art supplies and fun surprises valued at $100+! You'll also be asked to gather together some household items and supplies you probably already have on hand. Be sure to join the Facebook group and get to know each other! And, set aside a small space for creativity and alert your co-habitants that your art time is sacred! 

* Attendees should have a working knowledge of the Zentangle Method.

** International retreaters will receive a supply list and discounted attendance. Canadian is higher to cover shipping costs.

The Schedule (EDT) 

Being mindful of on-line burn-out we have spaced the instructional periods over two weekends. All classes are recorded for you. We also will have the classroom open for "Create-Along" time. This is a time when you can be on-line conversing, sharing and creating along with your other on-line retreaters. There is no formal instruction during Create-Along time. 

Thursday October 22, 7 - 8 pm - Bring a cup of tea or a glass of wine to celebrate the beginning of our retreat!

Friday October 23, 6 - 8 pm Class Time - followed by Create-Along time until bedtime!

Saturday October 24, 11 - 3 Class Time (with breaks), 3 - 5 Create-Along time.

Sunday October 25, 11 - 3 Class Time (with breaks), 3 - 5 Create-Along time.

Wednesday October 28, 7 - 8 - Mid-Week check-in!

Saturday October 31 (Halloween!) 11 - 1 Class Time (with breaks), 2 - 5 Create-Along time.

About your Instructors:

Cherryl Moote has been a paper artist for over thirty years. Her specialities include bookbinding, calligraphy, card making, rubber stamping and paper decorating. Cherryl has taught throughout North America and has published a series of  books for paper enthusiasts. Grateful for the impact of many artistic mentors, she devotes a large part of her career to teaching, inspiring and connecting with other artists around the world. Cherryl teaches for guilds, stores and interest groups and she has been an instructor and lecture presentor at the international calligraphy conventions many times since 2001. Cherryl's natural teaching talent shines through in all her materials, allowing you to learn new techniques with maximum enjoyment and success. Cherryl is a Certified Zentangle Teacher. Elaine Huffman has been a self-supporting artist for more than 25 years. She first explored her artistry in long-arm machine quilting commissions, publishing and teaching locally and at national machine quilting shows. More recently Elaine has taught ZentangleŽ, mixed media, art journaling and creative expression on-line and  at community centers, libraries and retreats! Elaine is the CEO and Founder of TangleU Productions which is home to online and in person creativity classes and events. Elaine holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Massachusetts, is a Certified ZentangleŽ Teacher, a ToastmasterŽ and holds a Certificate in Event Planning.  www.TangleU.com
