“Living and adhering to moral values and decency in the workplace does not require additional skills. It only requires us to unlock qualities of the spirit that are in all of us – irrespective of race, gender, creed or origin. I urge you as you go to your workplace or home to unlock that spirit.” - H. Peter Burg - Past CEO FirstEnergy Corporation

Emerging Leaders H. Peter Burg Leadership From Within

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop as an Emerging Leader in your organization and community?

Emerging Leaders H. Peter Burg Leadership From Within is an in-depth and practical guide that goes beyond competencies and skill-building. It is an interactive journey that gives leaders a road map to navigate the challenges of personal and professional growth. This is done by providing an environment that promotes the exchange of ideas and shared experiences among leaders.

Within this group, you will have access to individuals with whom you can exchange ideas and share strategies to achieve personal and professional growth and success. You will learn with and from others how you can integrate ethics, spirituality and integrity into your day-to-day work life while balancing work, family, service, and self from a values-based perspective.

The series is open to 15 Emerging Leaders, who are seeking opportunities of increasing responsibility, from the Greater Akron region. Monthly meetings will be held to reflect upon the core themes of Leadership From The Inside Out by Kevin Cashman as well as take time for engagement on numerous areas of potential growth as leaders.

Find out what past participants gained from the 2019 series:

- "The overall benefit of this series for me was to be authentic to myself and my peers. Everyone is going through something."

- "For me, one of the biggest benefits is meeting people outside of my normal network of life, and to commit on a deep level to share experiences and stories together."

- "I’ve gained confidence and presence. I would encourage others to participate to enhance their self-awareness as a leader and have dedicated time monthly to do the inner work necessary to lead with integrity."

- "The self-awareness that came from the reflections and discussions from the series has really helped ground me in my work and personal life. From hearing from others in the group, there is plenty more to learn for myself and others."
