The 3rd International Seminar on Amplifying Student Voice and Partnership will convene experts from the realms of practice, research, and polcy from around the world to consider the pressing questions of amplifying youth voice and the development of the youth-adult partnership paradigm.

Dates and times:

  • June 26, 1 PM – 5 PM, followed by a Welcome Reception
  • June 27, 9 AM – 5 PM
  • June 28, 9 AM – 12 PM

Location:

The Davis Center at the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT, USA

The University of Vermont (UVM) is located in Burlington, the birthplace of John Dewey. The largest city in the state (population 55,000) Burlington is situated on the shore of Lake Champlain, overlooking the Adirondacks of New York. The Green Mountains are immediately to the east. The city has a vibrant downtown and waterfront area, hosting a wide array of excellent restaurants. Burlington is less than two hours from Montreal, three hours from Boston, and five hours from New York City. The conference will be held in the Davis Center again this year, a facility that attained the first college student center “Leadership in Energy and Development Design” certification in the country.

Cost:

Funding has been secured to offset the cost of the meeting facility and food during our seminar sessions, thanks to the generosity of the Bay and Paul Foundations. The registration fee of $150 for all adults helps to cover the balance of expenses and subsidize youth participants.  (Note:  If this is a significant barrier to attending, please contact Helen Beattie at helen@upforlearning.org).

Participants will be responsible for all travel and lodging expenses and meals not otherwise provided. University Heights rooms have been secured for those who would appreciate this lower-cost housing option.
