THE NEVADA HOSPITAL ENGAGEMENT NETWORK PRESENTS:
TAKE A DIFFERENT APPROACH:
Using Human Factor Psychology to Improve Quality Performance in the Healthcare Setting*
Facilitated by Michael P. Silver, MPH
Vice President, Corporate Operations
HealthInsight
Human factors psychology is the science of designing tools, tasks, and information systems for safe and effective use by humans. As a core discipline for performance improvement in systems that depend on human effort, it looks at adverse events as a defect in the process, rather than a defect in the person. This workshop is designed to provide health care quality and patient safety professionals with working knowledge of key human factors principles. It employs interactive learning methods with exercises and applications to clinical work.
This is a free workshop. Light refreshments will be provided. Brown bag lunches are welcome!
