Meet our Speakers!

Joyce Lui is the Account Manager for Southern California Edison. She readily shares with business owners on the latest Edison programs, incentives, energy efficiency programs and rebates that help businesses thrive and succeed. She is the current Vice President of Ascend, Pan Asian Employee Business Resource Group in Edison. She graduated from UCLA with a Communications BA Degree, with English and Chinese minors.


Phil Atwan is the Senior Vice President of Exchange Resources and is also one of the Founders. He speaks to more financial, real estate, and legal professionals about 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges than probably anyone in the country. Phil is featured at approximately 150 educational seminars per year, hosted by financial planning organizations, escrow associations, CPA and EA tax groups, bar associations, and real estate companies in the greater Los Angeles area through San Luis Obispo County. 
His reach extends across the nation. Industry-related professionals and real estate investors from New York to Seattle to Southern California call him to learn about the rules of code section 1031 and how to defer capital gain taxes. Phil enjoys and thrives on assisting and educating people about 1031 Exchanges.  He also speaks regularly at Board of REALTORS® continuing education functions and has long served in various Board of Director and official capacities for the Escrow Associates of the San Gabriel Valley.
Phil began his career in 1982 in marketing and sales with a large title insurance company and transitioned to a 1031 Tax Deferred Exchange focus in 1998. He grew up in Pasadena, California, and now lives in Whittier where he and his wife enjoy their three children and three grandchildren.

 

Peter McNeil is the owner of Comprehensive Financial Solutions and Tax.  He has over 40 year’s experience in tax preparation and tax planning.  From 1980 to 2000 he worked as a tax research specialist for Commerce Clearing House.  Mr. McNeil was committee chair for the LAX South Bay CPA discussion group from 2002 to 2017.  He has also been a regular speaker at CPA discussion groups on multiple tax related topics.
Peter is licensed by the State of California as a registered tax preparer, he holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses as well as a life and health insurance license.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northeastern University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
